Skin on my upper arm has thickening, bumpy alligator-type texture, multiple pimple-like eruptions from inside the skin to the outside where they become extremely itchy, uncontrollable until pimples rise to the surface and are opened from incessant scratching then last several weeks or even months. Leaves arms covered with many scabby sores which are embarrassing and make me look like a drug addict .
I can understand your concern for pimples on the upper arm. It can be part of Acne or pimples which are youth related problem and is not a disease per say or can be part of condition known as keratosis pilaris.
In your kind of cases I generally prescribe a Gel containing clindamycin phosphate 1.2% w/w and tretinoin 0.025% w/w amongst which tretinoin has more of irritation potential and can cause mild to moderate redness along with flaking and peeling of skin. The only precaution you should follow is to apply the cream in very thin layer and that too over affected area only.
Take a proper guidance and follow up with a good dermatologist so that all the problem of acne can be dealt best for future time.
Take care
