What Could Cause Rash On Right Arm From Shoulder To Elbow?

My right arm, from shoulder to elbow red (like a sunburn) and very warm to the touch. That s only place on body. Did nothing different except wear a blouse that I haven t worn in awhile that is mostly silk with some rayon. Could I be having a reaction? If so, why not other arm?

Dermatologist 's  Response

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
From your description its looks like you are having episodes of contact irritant dermatitis, a kind of allergic skin eruption.
I would advise you to consult a dermatologist for proper management.
Usually i advise a short course of various antihistaminics with or without corticosteroids. Also apply a cream containing mometasone and fusidic acid twice a day for a week.

Thank you
Dr Hardik Pitroda
