What Could Cause Several Episodes Of Chest Pain While At Rest?

Yes hello, I took my husband to the hospital last week with severe chest pain. EKG, troponin, stress test all normal. He has 4 stints in the arteries next to his heart. He has had 3 similar chest pain episodes in an 8hr time period since returning home from work today. He exerts energy at work but didn t have any pain. He is at rest at home and has had 3 since coming home from work. Pain is diminished significantly with nitro, but what we don t understand is why he is having these pain episodes while at rest?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that his symptoms could be related to stent occlusion and angina.

For this reason, I recommend going to the nearest ER service as soon as possible for a physical exam, a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes.

A new coronarography may be needed in order to examine the blood flow in the coronary arteries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
