I have a sharp pain in the back of head behind my ear on both sides - when I touch there it feels sensitive I have been feeling this off and on about 2 to 3 weeks. I went to the urgent care -- he gave a antihisamine and antiobotic said there was conjestion, I feel no different. My sinus would not drain when I would do the routine in the pass to get them to drain like saline, hot shower, vicks, heating pad and enema. This morning they did drain after the shower, but now the feeling is coming back -- my head feels sore and like its swelling. Can you help? Thanks.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely a middle ear infection. When your Eustachian tubes are blocked due to sinusitis or upper respiratory infection it can happen. It can complicate by a mastoiditis which gives a severe pain behind the ears also. Proper antibiotics decongesants and NSAID drugs are used in treatment. It is better to approach an ENT doctor and rule out the condition.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
