What Could Cause Slight Striking Pain Under Chin After Tongue Piercing?

Hi, I got my tongue pierced 3 weeks ago today. I got the bar changed to a shorter one after 2 weeks which is what my piercer told me to do. He pierced my tongue about as far back as you can go and he pierced it directly to the right of my web. When he changed the bar he had to pull and tug a bit because its in such a far back area, so It could have caused it but I am experiencing slight striking pains directly underneath my chin. I m not sure if that s my salivary glands or not but it s not crucial. It s just a bit irritating and annoying. What would cause this?

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to the tongue piercing. Tongue piercing can cause continued pain as well as swelling, tenderness, bleeding and bruising for around 5 days. You can use anti inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
