What Could Cause Sudden Bleeding During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am at the beginning of my 14 week pregnancy. Last wed, Jan 18 I started bleeding (I was still at 13 weeks) so I went to my physician. She told me that I should have no stress. She said that if I continued to bleed until Saturday that I should see her again. I went to see her on Saturday because I was still bleeding. She prescribed me Duphaston tablets dydrogesterone 10 mg. I only started taking them today Tuesday January 24. I have my next appointment this Friday. My question is whether this medication will cause any harm to my baby. I want my baby to be fine and I want to stop bleeding. I also read that Vitamin K (Broccoli, ...) helps to stop the bleeding. Is this true? When the doctor examined me on Saturday she said she doesn t know why I am bleeding. My uterus and placenta and most important my baby are fine, the heartbeat was healthy.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion duphaston does not cause any harm to mother or baby.If all the things are normal I suggest you to do thyroid hormone estimation because thyroid abnormalities also cause bleeding.Cervix becomes very soft and vascular in pregnancy. So cervix causes like erosion also might cause bleeding sometimes.Avoid intercourse and physical and mental strain. As everything is normal you need not worry.Mostly the pregnancy continues normally .
