Hello,
Dark urine in a Hep B patient is more likely from a liver flare or
bilirubin rise rather than
Livolin itself. Your brother is advised to keep himself well hydrated. If the urine is still dark after hydration, he is advised to get liver function tests (LFTs) and a
urinalysis done urgently. He will be treated accordingly. In
hepatitis B, dark urine can mean bilirubin spilling into urine, indicative of liver inflammation or a flare.
Take boiled water after cooling. He should prefer to take boiled food over fried, oily food. Avoid taking red meat; he can take lean meat. He is advised to take food cooked in olive oil only; the portion of oil being used should be controlled so that the food is not oily. Get quality sleep of 7-8 hours at night. He should stay away from stress, both emotional and physical.
In case there is persistent dark urine,
abdominal pain, nausea,
vomiting,
fatigue, or yellowing of eyes/skin, then he is advised to visit the ER or get hospitalized so that he will get urgent medical support and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
