What Could Cause Swollen, Painful Lymph Nodes In Neck?
Neck Mass Hello, I went to see my physician to get my neck ultrasound and they told me that all it is is lymph nodes. I asked them why it hurts and they did not respond and said they need to refer me to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists. I never went. I feel they did not take the time to check it out and did not give me enough information on what's causing it to hurt and swell up.. It hurts just about everyday. They told me on the right side there are 3, which looked fine and nothing about the left side, the side that's causing most the pain, more than the right side. Any advice on what I should do? I'm thinking of getting all my medical records and getting a second opinion elsewhere. My physician always rushes and never takes the time to hear what's bothering me and what not. Any advice on what I should do?
hello, thanks for your query. lymph node enlargement could be due to pus or inflammation in lymph nodes, secondary to tuberculosis, lymphoma, ent infections, pediculosis, scalp infections. kindly visit an ent surgeon. depanding on examination u may require fine needle aspiration cytology( fnac) , which gives clue to appropriate diagnosis and definitive treatment.all the best. take care.
