What Could Cause The Excruciating Burning In The Hip Which Was Earlier Severe Pain?

Hi There, I was treated a couple of weeks ago for a painful Lt. hip with iIndocid pant and tylenol #3. Most of the painful hip resolved, then I had excruciating burning. on fire type of pain in my entire Lt. thigh. Clothing on the leg even irritates it. I have had this pain X 10 days. My Dr. has put me on Lyrica twice daily--started 3 days ago. The pain has only lessened slightly. It is even difficult to walk. What on earth is causing this. I am a dialysis nurse and have had to take sick time due to this. When will the pain end???? Thanks in advance--Your help is much appreciated,

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
This burning sensation is neural in origin. It could be due to compression of the nerves coming out of the spine. You might be having a slip disc or a mass or arthritis over the lower back compressing the nerves. I recommend you to see an orthopedician and take xray/CAT scan of lower spine to rule out any of the above.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
