What Could Cause Unusual Cold Symptoms With A Strange Smell?

I have an unusual cold and cough. Dripping nose rather than heavy cold and a rasping cough with virtually no phlegm that eating (and drinking to a lesser extent) seem to agrávate. Every time I blow my nose I get a strong smell of cooked cabbage ( or similar). Never had this in my life before most odd.
