What Could Cause White Salty Liquid Oozing Out Of Back Of Mouth Causing Dryness, Pain And Burning Mouth?
My husband complains of a white salty liquid that periodically oozes out of the back of his mouth. The dentist checked the teeth, pulled one, it has healed, there is no infection. The eye ear throat doctor has examined him and taken an MRI of the salivary glands. The oral surgeon found nothing. During the days when this liquid oozes into his mouth, it burns and that side of his mouth then is very dry and hurts. Do you have a suggestion? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query white salty liquid oozing out of back of mouth causing dryness, pain and burning mouth seems to be post nasal drip as mucous got infected due to sinusitis and thick infected mucous that is present in the sinuses being drained off. Need not to worry. you should take combination of antibiotics Clindamycin, anti-inflammatory medication like Levocetrizine along with decongestants and mucolytic agents. You should do warm saline gargles and go for nasal sprays. Visit ENT specialist once and get paranasal sinus X-ray done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should drink plenty of water and apply soothing gel on oral cavity areas.
