What Could Chronic Radiating Chest Pain Indicate, Have Had Pleurisy And Hypertension?

Hello. I'm female, age 51. overweight, on lisinopril for high blood pressure (which is under control, on the medication). For the last several months, I feel pressure in my upper chest, on the left side, a bit below the collarbone. When I press on the area (the ribs), it increases the pain. There are times when it does not hurt at all. It's not a sharp pain, but rather a dull pain that radiates out to about the size of a small plate. When I push on the right side, it does not produce pain at all, so this is only on the left size. I'm assuming that since this has been going on for months and I'm still here, that it's not cardiac related. But what could it be? I've had pleurisy in the past, but that pain was located more in the center/breastbone area. Thank you!! :)

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more.
Your pain is increased by applying pressure on that area. This is characteristic feature of musculoskeletal pain.
So better to apply warm water pad on affected site.
Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise.
Avoid pressing of that area.
Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
You will mostly improve with all these.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
