What Could Constant Loud Sound In Ear Indicate?

My daughter just called with some concern about a loud sound in her ear. Sha states it sounds like a mic to close to a speaker and it happens when she talks or her 1 yaer old daughter makes any kind of noise. Also she states that the other ear sounds like the the inside of a sea shell. This just started about one hour ago and it is constant.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hearing loud sounds in ear is suggest of disorder of inner ear.
Inner ear is concerned with hearing as well as maintaining balance.
Hearing loud sounds could be due to disorders like otosclerosis or meniere's disease.
Otosclerosis is caused by sclerosis of the small bones present in the ear. It causes hearing loss, ringing sensation in ears and disorder of balance.
Meniere's disease is primarily associated with vertigo or spinning of head along with hearing problems.
I suggest your daughter to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment, clinical assessment of the inner ear and thus management.

Thanks and take care
