Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Cramps, Nausea With Yellow Vaginal Discharge Post IUD Insertion Indicate?
Had a iud progesterone only inserted within the last 3 months but for about 1-2 weeks I ve been experiencing abdominal lower pain, cramps, back pain, nausea and now all over body pain. The pain is usually worse at night but it is inconsistent and recently had what looked like a yellow tube like discharge with no odor. I ve taken multiple pregnancy tests and all are negative - also been recently diagnosed with cervical dysplasia but I also can not feel the iud strings but I can feel a small round like mass.
Hello and thank you for your question. I have read your chief complaint and hope I can be of help for you today. An IUD is the safest, most effective methods for preventing pregnancy. There are 2 types of IUDs. Copper IUD and Progestin IUD. Sorry that you experience lower abdominal pain, cramp, back pain, nausea and body pain. Possible, it is from progesterone IUD. You should see your doctor if you have bad pain in your lower belly, your period is late or very different from normal, you can not feel the string of the IUD or if the string seems shorter than usual, you have an unexplained fever.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards, Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
