What Could Cystic Pancreatic Neoplasm In My MR Scan Report Suggest?

MR Scan conclusion is:
ill defined left hypochondrium complex shaped multilocular cystic and solid mass lesion inseparable from the pancreatic body and tail extending to the gastric bed and splenic hilar region compressing the left kidney and displacing the small bowel loops as above described.
the possibility of gist or cystic pancreatic neoplasm should be considered on top of the differential diagnosis, for clinical, laboratory correlation, biopsy and histopathology.

Radiologist 's  Response
Hello,

This means there is a tumour in the pancreas that is touching the stomach and the spleen.

The radiologist has advised for certain blood tests (CA 19-9 for example) and a biopsy (small sample of the tissue to be taken and looked at closely in the lab under a microscope).
The biopsy is useful in finding out exactly what type of tumour it is and knowing the type enables the doctor to give you your treatment options.

All the best.
