What Could Delayed Periods And Light Cramping Indicate?

Hi there. I ve been taking Alysena 21 day birth control off and on for years now. I started again in January, and since then I ve had some irregular bleeding the week before my scheduled period. I know that s normal for the first 3 months or so, however I finished my pack for this month on Thursday April 3 (I also just finished the early bleeding that day) and was expecting my period around the 6 however it didn t come. I took 3 extra pills that final week..1 to stop the bleeding and 2 more because I had unprotected sex on April 4. I ve had a very mild pain in the left side of my abdomen since about Thursday April 10. Originally it felt like a mixture of cramps but now it s just that light pain. It s not as bad as last week but it s still lingering. Not sure if it could be caused by the extra pills taken or if I should be concerned about pregnancy, though I know it would be rather soon..

Hello,

Once your body system adjusts with the hormonal changes it will not cause such symptoms. However, you can take antacids & PPI's in case of acid reflux.

For abdominal cramps, you can take spamol (spasmoproxyvon) when needed for relief.

If the symptoms continue you need to see a gyne & get physically examined to rule out Polycystic ovary syndrome, hormonal issues, thyroid issues.

Stay away from emotional & psychological stress, stress may also cause such symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
