What Could Dry, Painful Flaky Area On Vulva Indicate, Have Eczema?

I have a dry, painful, flakey, red patch about the size of a quarter on the vulva. There are no sores or itchiness and I have been tested for STIs and came up negative. I do suffer from excema but have never had a problem with it in the area. Also, it is a lot more painful then my typical reaction. Any idea on what this may be?
