General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There can be various reasons for the sore pain with dullness in the chest at upper rib cage such as
- Ligament spasm
- Muscle pull
- Costochondritis
- Non specific

The usual case of gastric reflux does not present in such fashion. After primary examination with an expert Physician it is best recommended that you discuss the need of an X-ray with him or her for the final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
