What Could Early Period With Abdominal Pain Refer To?

My period came 6 days early from a 28 days cycle count. This had never happened to me before. And this time my lower ab feels like a thousand little needles poking it. It doesn't hurt very bad, just a slight discomfort. What does that mean? Please help.
