What Could Explain Dryness And Strange Taste In Mouth?

Hello, For the past eight months my tongue has felt very dry and no matter how much I drink it still feels the same, also I have got a nasty taste in my mouth and over the past few weeks I having started to feel very unwell. I am 67 years old and eat a healthy diet.

hello thanks for consulting at hcm..Taste is one of our most robust senses.It helps us recognize when food is good or bad for us. loss of taste can cause a loss of appetite, especially in older adults, which can lead to loss of weight, poor nutrition, weakened immunity.medications-antibiotics or antihistamines or other medications may cause persistent bad taste in your mouth.adjust or change your medicine to one that will not cause a problem with taste. Use artificial saliva, frequent sips f water, non sucrose chewing gums if u have teeth or denture wearer,,these r symptomatic treatmnt,,if prblm persists plz consult an endocrinologist ,.hope t helps..tc
