What Could Feeling Of Losing Consciousness While Sleeping With Tender Scalp Indicate?

Sensation/s of losing conciousness (sp?) whilst lying down.....I woke up with this feeling & it became worse when I tried to get off the bed, subsided when I lay down. Today, have had a headache (not uncommon because I have a bone out in my neck) and have experienced extremely tender part of the scalp just back of the left temple area. I am female, 62 yrs old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to the HCM.
It could be orthostatic hypotention. And I would also like to know wether you are taking any medicines as some medicines can also cause these symptoms.Other causes you have to rule out are migraine or raised cerebrospinal fluid pressure.
I would suggest get thorough general physical examination by a doctor and get B.P checked. Then you may discuss further if you need any CT scan brain and vessels scan in future.
Hopefully my answer will be helpfull for you.
Regards,Dr.Maheshwari
