Hi,

Painful lumps in the breast should be investigated immediately to rule out any tumours. The pain and increase in size is of great concern. You may have to take a mammogram as a first step.Any history of discharge from the lumps should also be ruled out. A biopsy which refers to examining a small amount of tissue retrieved from breast to be observed under microscope will be done. This test can help in differentiating a benign tumour and a malignant tumour. Treatment will be based on the result.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
