What Could Fluctuating Blood Pressure With Pain In Head Indicate?

My husband s BP is reading 99/58 (98/53when checked a few minutes later). His head was hurting so he thought his blood pressure might be up. We haven t had to check it for some time, but when we were asked to monitor it, some of the readings were 130/79 , 115/73, 124/86 and 126/76. Once it was down to 96/66 during the period of four weeks when we were checking it regularly after he started taking Coversyl (2mg). Should I check it again, soon, or wait until tomorrow and check it again? Is there something we should watch for? He has an appointment with his family doctor on January 20/14.

Headaches can be due to many causes high blood pressure is only one of the causes.

From the readings you mentioned you husband's blood pressure seems to be well under control. values above 130/90 should only worry you. Blood pressure can vary in a day much according to physical activities mental stress etc. So a daily monitoring at a time when he is calm and not exerting is best.

Continue regular follow up with the family physician.
