What Could Hard Lump Deep In Armpit Be?

Wife has hard lump deep in armpit. Been there about a month. Is hurting her but that may be because she tries squezzing it. Too deep for my comfort to put a needle in. Seems to be on or around the under arm tendon. What could it be? And what can we do. Wont be able to make a doctor visit for about a week or two.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This is an enlargement of lymph node , may be be due to these possibilities , these are:
1 Lymphatic abscess.
2 Lymphadenitis due to hairs folliculosis .
3 Secondaries to any primary disease anywhere in draining area of lymph nodes .
At present take some antibiotics ( blindly ,but broad spectrum antibiotics ).
Also ice massage , don't touch it or don't squeeze it.
Rest , antibiotics with anti inflammatory drugs , ice massage is the best treatment .
But as soon as you get time consult a SURGEON and get his opinion because one month already passed.
Good luck.
