Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Have Caused Chronic Sinus Issues Who Suddenly Had Severe Dizziness, Forehead Pain, And Flashing Lights At Night?
I have had upper respiratory problems for many years. This has manifested itself with bifrontal and bitemporal pain and lightheadedness and dizziness off and on much of the time. Last nite I was awakened with severe dizziness which was accompanied by severe forehead pain, multi-colored flares of light and feeling of faint. The episode passed in 30-40 seconds but dizziness continued the rest of the night when e.g. turning over in the bed, moving my head abruptly or getting up or lying down again. I experience meniere (sp) episodes from time to time but this session did not feel like one. I use Cyclosporine for Psorisis control but had not used it before going to bed last evening. This is the first time I have experienced anything like the “fireworks”, pain and dizziness I had last nite and though I might get your thoughts on possible causes or treatments. Incidentally, I am 90 years old and have just been declared in excellent health by several doctors after “annual” reviews. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.
