What Could Heart Race With Lack Of Sleep During Viral Infection Suggest?

My teenager has had flu for 7 days w no fever. On day 6 started omnicef for sinus infection. He wakes every night around 1am feeling like heart is racing, shaky breathing, but pulse is normal. He cannot go back to sleep due to this feeling which lasts about 3 hrs. We stopped all cold meds on day 5 thinking they may be the cause, but the problem continues.

HI
Well come to HCM
I appreciate your concern, because of the viral infection such clinical condition and symptoms are very likely, but this is nothing to worry because soon this would come around, seldom need any treatment but of course hydration is matter and diet too, if it is febrile condition then this can be managed with antipyretic, antibiotic has got no role in and should be avoided, hope this information helps, take care.
