What Could Infectious Pimples In Head ?

Hi, I am a 58 yr. female who has MS, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism and a few other things. I get bumps in my head ,"all over, but mostly towards the back" and they get sore but not infected with pus, but with a thick cottage cheese substance. It can be painful removing them, my husband does this although he thinks I should leave them alone and they'll get better by themselves. I've had a small to medium on my genitals for some time now, but I've not mentioned it. I live in a nursing home, so no sex therefore I just leave it. Do you know of anything that could help either at home or something I could relate to my GP? I'd appreciate your help in any way.

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
I suspect you are suffering from infected multiple sebaceous cysts in scalp and genital area.
You have the typical " Thick cottage cheese substance " from the cyst.
Do not puncture these cysts, you may get infection.
If you have the pain or redness, probably it might infected.
Then you might need antibiotics effective against staphylococci should be used, eg flucloxacillin.
If you puncture and expel the contents, the cyst will reform.
If they are few, you can get surgeon advice and remove the cysts.
If multiple, leave it and may disappear on its own or not at all.
Even after excision, if there is small remnant the cyst will re form.
Thus better check with your surgeon and treat the infection of cysts with antibiotics.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
