Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Itchy, Red Welts On Body With Swollen Face And Stiff Throat Indicate?
My sister has developed itchy red welps over entire Body. Swelling in face and eyes and tightening in throat. Her husband found her on the ground in yard with eyes rolled back, head back, and gurgling sounds. He called EMS. ER gave her Benadryl, steroids, and referred her to allergist. She can t be seen until July. She does have epi pen now. She has no history of allergies, food or otherwise. Could this be a neurological issue? She denies bug bites or changes in diet or household chemicals.
I am sorry to hear about the health problems of your sister. She experienced severe allergy reaction, and she is being treated currently with Benadryl, steroids. You should use Epi pen when she will have any other attack. If no acute episode, there is no need to take epi pen. Continue medications regularly, and run allergy tests together with stool analysis for ova/parasites.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
