What Could Itchy, Slightly Bleeding Ears With Muffled Hearing Indicate?

I had a small amount of dried blood in my ear. My ear was itchy. It had dried blood so I wiped the edges again and it had bright red blood. No blood on pillow, or noticed anywhere else. My throat hurts just on that side. I don t feel dizzy or nauseated. Pain is relieved w ibuprofen. I have a feeling of ? Air hard to describe but almost like I can feel it go through my ear. I will go to dr in morning but should I wait til then? May be a small change in my hearing/ muffled slightly.

Hi,

Itchy, slightly bleeding ears with muffled hearing can indicate several conditions, including ear infections, earwax buildup, or an injury to the ear. The feeling of air going through the ear could be a sign of a perforated eardrum. The throat pain on the same side could indicate referred pain from the ear. It is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible to determine the cause of these symptoms and receive appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
