What Could Knee Puffiness With Difficult Movements Suggest?

My four year old fell on her knee - the very top-left side of her knee cap, It swell up immediately. I quickly put ice on it and swelling subsided. However, there is still a little puffiness and pain to the touch. She is able to bend her knee and walk normally. Is the puffiness and pain a sign that something else may be wrong?
