What Could Little Black Specks On Scalp While Having Chronic Psoriasis Indicate?

I have little black somethings in m scalp. I do have chronic psoriasis, and at first I thought the itching was significant to a first presentation of the ps. in my scalp. But there are no lesions. Actually the little black things look very uch like the little bits of dried blood one would find on a dog or cat infested with fleas. Occasionally I do feel like something is moving through my hair. Cannot find a living thing upon exam. What are possibilities?

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of hair parasites. They are really fast and that may explain why you can not find them on your hair. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your GP for a physical exam or with a dermatologist. You may need a special ointment or shampoo to improve your situation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
