What Could Low Pulse Rate On Left Wrist With Strong One On Right Wrist During Pregnancy Diagnosed By An Acupuncturist Mean?
My daughter is just shy of 6 weeks pregnant and her acupuncturist yesterday said she had a low pulse rate on her left wrist but a very strong one on her right wrist. She is now concerned about what this low pulse rate might mean (she is nervous she lost a pregnancy, through IVF, in October. This pregnancy is the result of a frozen embryo transfer; today the doctor saw a sac and fetus and said all looked great so far.
Just put your fingers on the front of both her wrists and see if you can feel any difference in the pulse. If so, then inform her doctor for a proper assessment. Minor differences are common but if there is a significant difference, then the implications would depend on the cause found. Usually it is because of a constriction in one of the major arteries. But whatever it is, I do not expect it will affect the pregnancy. At the most, it would imply that she be delivered by caesarian section. That again is not a big deal and probably would have been done anyhow even without the current problem. Please do not worry. I am sure things will turn out well.
Best wishes.
