What Could Missed Periods With HPT Negative Mean?

Hi, I am married and 38 years old. I was taking Prenatal vitamins (one a Day) since two months. My periods was expected on 25th July, 2014 but till today no signs of periods there. I checked today EPT stick through urine at home but it shows not pregnant. my periods always comes on time and sometimes 1 or 2 days before the expected date. I wanted to know whether am pregnant or something else ?

Thank you for asking your question at healthcare magic.

Testing very early in your cycle, can give false negative results.I recommend that you wait few more days (Ideally 6 days after missed period) and do a pregnancy test.Early morning first urine sample is best for doing pregnancy test .

Besides pregnancy any stress, diet changes, vigorous exercising can cause a delay in period.
If you a long term history of menstrual irregularities, then hormonal problems like Thyroid disorders,poly cystic ovarian syndrome need to be looked for.

I recommend that you wait few more days to repeat pregnancy test.If still the test is negative and you haven't started menstruating, I recommend that you consult your doctor.
