What Could Numbness And Shocking Pain In Knee Post A Hit Indicate?
I play volleyball and I hit my knee on the ground multiple times and everytime I do a shock of pain goes through it to where I can barely walk on it for a good 30sec then it s gone till it happens again but I ve noticed a quarter size hard numb to the outside of my right knee and that s what s hurting every time I hit the ground... Please help
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain shocking pain and numbness over the knee after traumatic injury seems to be due to nerve injury and due to nerve injury there is loss of mylein sheath that is a protective coating over the nerve and it leads to disturbed nerve functioning and shock like pain along the course of nerve.. I would suggest you to do warm and cool compresses over the swelling. You can also apply analgesic gel over it.. Take Ibuprofen to relieve pain and inflammation.. Take Vitamin B complex as it helps in regeneration and nerve healing.. Prevent further injury to the knee.. In case of no relief in one month consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
