What Could Numbness Of The Thumb Be Indicative Of?

Two days ago I woke up unable to feel my thumb. I have never had any pain or weakness in my thumb before. I was able to use it until today it went completely numb and it s very hard to move. I have to pain and no other fingers are numb. I went to the doctors and they said that with how fast it came on, it is very unlikely it is carpel tunnel. Do you have any ideas of what it could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with numbness of the thumb with no Sensation of pain I am suggesting that you have developed a peripheral neuropathy

In view of this please check your blood pressure and sugar level

Meanwhile please take tablet thiamine pending your appointment with the neurologist specialist for expert management

I hope this helps
