What Could Painful Lumps On Groin Area Indicate?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have had an oval shaped lump in right groin area for several months. It is not painful, and does not seem to be getting larger. Would like to know possibilities of what it is.

Hello,

You have not mentioned if it does decrease in size in any position if there is a difference in size, then it could be an inguinal hernia. Other possible causes are lymph nodal enlargement, due to infections or inflammations and underlying medical and systemic diseases.

I would recommend you to see your general physician, and if you have any cause get treated. If you have no medical condition, then get an ultrasound swelling done, it will characterize the lesion and its extensions.
