In a known diabetic and hypertensive patient, sweating and "passing out" may be due to several reasons, the common being recurrent hypoglycemic attacks. The cardiac status should also be evaluated to rule out ischaemic heart disease. In elderly diabetics, SIBO sometimes present with these manifestations. So, my advice is to monitor the blood glucose level at different times of day particularly during those episodes and consult a cardiologist for further evaluation. If the problem persists you can write back to us. Regards. Dr. Kaushik
