What Could Peppery Taste In Mouth Suggest?

My adult son has had a peppery taste in the back of his mouth...as if he had put a spoon of black pepper in his mouth. He no longer enjoys eating because of this. Years ago he was diagnosed with HS disease, could this have anything to do with it or is this something we should worry about.

HI
Well come to HCM
At the most chances of stomatitis need to be ruled out if this is not like that then this could be functional condition and not due to any disease, stomatitis can be treated with local mouth gargle and Povidone iodine gargle would be best, else this is nothing to worry, take care and have a nice day.
