What Could Popping Bubble In The Area Of Cartilage Piercing Indicate?

I got 2 cartilage pierceings about 2 months ago almost 2 months, and the bottom one seems to be healing perfectly fine but the top one has never really healed. I clean it with the ear care solution the piercer gave me, almost every day or every other day. I had to wait at least a month before I can take my pierceing out. And when I took out the earring I felt this little bubble behind my ear where the back of the earring is. So I cleaned my ear like normal put my earring back in but then my ear started bleeding a little. It kind of felt like my pierce had popped the bubble I guess but it s a little uncomfortable every once in a while. Is this normal? Should I be worried.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

This might suggest a secondary infection there. Keep the area clean and dry. Apply antibiotic cream like Mupirocin for 5 days. Pain will respond to acetaminophen. If not getting down by 3rd day, kindly consult your doctor, as this might need antibiotics too.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
