What Could Prolonged Loss Of Breath Causing Difficulty To Take Deep Breaths Indicate?
I am experiencing loss of breath. Not able to run anymore and difficult to take a full, deep breaths. Symptoms now for 5 months or longer. I ve had multiple heart test and all have come up negative (stress, echo, 24 hour, etc). The ability to breath is much harder when bent over or laying on back. I think i had undiagnosed pnuemonia early this year and wonder if this could be some type of long term or permanent damage to my lungs. I can walk and do normal activities, but anything more brings on a definite lack of breath. Thanks
Hello I understand your concern. As you have mentioned that your heart status is normal with normal stress test, Echo. You should get your chest X ray done. In this situation it seems that the shortness of breath is pulmonary in origin (Lungs involved). Whether you had habit of smoking, tobacco consumption, if you have asthma or if you have occupational exposure of some fibrosing substance needs to be known. My advice is visit your physician and get your pulmonary function test, Chest X ray done. Accordingly a bronchodilator can be prescribed to you. Perform Yoga and breathing exercises for 15-20 minutes days, walk on green grass without footwear. Hope this will help you.
