Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Protruding Right Clavicle With Stiffness In Neck And Shoulder Indicate?
Hi, the my right clavicle is protruding/appears to be larger near my neck. I just noticed this a few days ago. It is somewhat tender and I believe is causing/associated with some neck and shoulder stiffness I ve been experiencing. I am quite active and do a lot of hand balancing activities, but have had no recent trauma to this area of my body.
* The stiff neck, shoulder with protruding clavicle might be of concern through acute ligament or muscle pull most likely, making certain bony prominences to observe like protrusion. My guidelines at present
- avoid excessive and sudden jerky movements of the neck
- analgesic tablet as diclofenac or etoricoxib after meals if no history of drug sensitivity
- avoid weight lifting through right upper limb and over the shoulder movements
* Consult your primary care for possible need of an X-ray chest for further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
