What Could Random Heart Beat With Tiredness Suggest?

I am female collegiate basketball player, and sometimes (only about 3-4 times a year) when I play, my heart starts to beat really fast, probably about 2 or 3 times the regular speed, and it lasts for a few minutes, then I get extremely tired. What should I do?

Such abnormal feeling for the heartbeat could be due to cardiac illness. A

Although it is very rarely happening and the most common cause is exercise or an allergic condition.

Such feeling of abnormal heartbeat needs to be ruled out for cardiac disease and for that EKG is advisable it should never be neglected.
