What Could Random Rise In Heart Rate Suggest?

Hi I am 34 and in good shape, and as of last week my heart rate surges and feels like it is beating harder, like I can really feel it strongly. It helps a little if I take some deep breaths. It does this for no apparent reason. I took my blood pressure, it looked good but my heart wasnt doing the surge at the time.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Heart rate can vary from time to time. It will rise in condition like anxiet and after physical exertion and returns to normal in couple of hours. These are all normal thing and nothing much to worry about it.
You can check your thyroid function test as condition like hyperthyroidism can cause elevated heart rate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
