General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Most gastric conditions can mimic symptoms of a cardiac event (which is serious and requires immediate medical attention), so the first thing I would urge you to do is to visit a clinic, doctor or hospital for an EKG. If hopefully, a cardiac cause is ruled out request the medical team for an injection of pantoprazole. If this helps provide even minimal relief then your cause is most probably gastric.

Schedule an appointment with your doctor for an elaborate evaluation including a 24-acid monitoring , and possibly even an endoscopy of the upper GI tract. In the meantime, avoid alcohol, avoid smoking, avoid spicy/fatty/oily/fried food, avoid stress, drink plenty of water, avoid carbonated drinks, and avoid rigorous exercise.

Best wishes.
