What Could Recurring Symptoms Of UTI Indicate?

I have had burning in my urinary track since Feb. we drove to Arizona and after we got there I went in to minute clinic and received an antibiotic for a uti. Thought it was gone and came back when I got back home. Went in to my regular dr and got another medication and it is still here. I got a physical and my Pap smear came back ok. I m going in again in a few days but am concerned it could be something more serious. I don t have the burning every day, but am just not feeling right. What are your thoughts!!

Hello,

you are suffering from recurrent symptoms of UTI. You pap smear report is okay. Recurrent UTI occurs due to the use of public washrooms / toilets as the female urethra is shorter hence more prone to infection. Do not wipe from back to front as bacteria exchange from the rectum to the urethra can take place. To avoid recurrent infection, maintain proper hygiene. Stay well hydrated to flush out bacteria naturally.

Be cautious when using a diaphragm, condoms (latex) during sex. They can cause allergy and trigger infection. Empty your bladder completely, urine that doesn’t empty is more likely to grow bacteria. Get clinically examined by a urologist before travel. You may need a repeat urinalysis (R/E and C/S) and antibiotics. Take home made nutritious food to boost your immune system. You can also take supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
