What Could Redness In Eyes With Lumps In Throat Suggest?
Hello, my daughter is 6 yesterday her left eye was really red today it is fine. The right eye is kinda gunky and she said sometimes it a little blurry to see out of. Then she said her throat is a little sore. I got the light and looked inside and noticed three small flesh colored bumps on the very back of her throat. Is that normal?
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Your daughter possibly has a throat infection, either viral or bacterial which caused both the problems. The eye problem could be due to the sympathetic congestion of the conjunctiva by the throat infection itself or could be due a coincidental conjunctivitis. If I were your doctor, I would have advised her for a throat swab culture and sensitivity test. When waiting for the report, I would have started some mild anti inflammatory syrup for her and advise for steam inhalations apart from gargles with an anti septic solution if she could. I might start some antibiotic as per the sensitivity report if positive.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
