What Could Severe Chest Discomfort With Heaviness Suggest?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have some discomfort in my chest. It's been there all day, kind of a short pain just left of the centre of my chest. Now my chest feels a little heavy but I can feel the exact spot of discomfort

I have gone through your query.If you can spot the pain and pain while palpation is present it is most likely costochondritis.Any how it is better to do an ECG and a chest X ray if needed to rule out cardiac cause of it.For costochondritis i treat my patients with anti inflammatory gels of nimusulide or diclofenac for local application.I also advise oral tablets of same drugs if pain is more.If there is no improvement then i recommend local injection of corticosteroids or anesthetics.Hope this may help you.
