What Could Severe Fatigue With Soft Lump On Neck Indicate?

My dad who is 63 has found a large soft lump on his neck and he is also really tired all the time for the past 2 weeks. I m worried for what the results may find? The doctors repeatedly asked him whether he smoked which he doesn t and if he had lost weight. He hasn t! Please could you give me an idea of what is wrong with him. I m terrified it may be leukaemia the cancer which killed his mother. Many thanks

Hi
A soft lump in the neck could be Lipoma, fat swelling.
Simple investigation like FNAC ( FINE Needle aspiration Cytology ) will confirm the diagnosis.
If it is inconclusive, the lump should be excised completely and send for histopathological examination.
