What Could Severe Headache, Vomiting And Mild Nausea Indicate?
I am a 44 year old male, 5'7" - 220 pounds, work out 5 times a week (mostly aerobic - jogging), just completed half marathon last weekend. I woke up this morning around 0100 with a severe headache and nausea. I eventually did vommit and took 2 excedrin then buried my head in pillow. Hard to go back to sleep but did. Woke again with headache and mild nausea. Migraine, Stroke? I know...go to a doctor, but all full and don't want ER.
I reviewed your history you have provided here. It seems from the history that you are having headache associated with vomiting and nausea. These symptoms are classically seen in acute attack of migraine. This requires treatment by the use of anti migraine drugs like ergotamine in the acute episode. Use of prophylactic drugs are needed in your case as you are having recurrent attacks. The commonly used prophylactic drugs are flunarizine or propranolol.
Do consult your doctor for examination and prescription of drugs.
