What Could Soft, Itchy Red Bump On The Side Of Nose Of A Teenager Indicate?

My 14 year old daughter has a soft, itchy, slightly red bump on the side of her nose between the eye and the bridge of her nose. I initially thought a pimple was forming, but is has been there for several weeks and seems basically the same. It is smaller in the morning and is noticeably more swollen by later in the day. It is slightly larger than a large pea in diameter.
